Building teams and design systems that scale real impact.
I’m Rohit Dheer, a design leader with 15+ years of experience building high-performing teams, scaling design operations, and solving complex problems across healthcare, fintech, and SaaS.
I work closely with leadership to move design from execution to strategy, and to make it a core part of how organisations think, decide, and build. Currently heading Design at ECHO India.

Quantified Leadership
Over 15+ years, I’ve led design across complex healthcare, fintech, and SaaS environments, building scalable design operations, enterprise platforms, and user-centered systems that deliver measurable outcomes.
40%
Efficiency gain
Reduced design-to-development handoff time by systematising workflows and building a shared component library — bringing design and engineering into real alignment.
23%
Conversion Uplift
Drove a direct increase in B2B transaction completion by reworking critical UX flows where users were dropping off, not where dashboards looked weak.
+40
SUS improvement
Improved platform usability from a marginal 68 to an exceptional 91, impacting over 800K users across a high-stakes healthcare ecosystem.
75L+
Design operations budget
Managed and optimised large-scale design ops budgets to support team growth, tooling, and long-term capability building, without bloating process.
How I Think About Design
- Design is not about being right. It is about reducing risk for users, for the business, and for the teams building the product.
- I do not chase perfect interfaces. I chase clarity. If something needs explanation, the design is not done yet.
- Research matters, but context matters just as much. There are moments when depth is critical and others where speed is the real differentiator. Knowing the difference comes from experience, not frameworks.
- Design systems are not libraries. They are agreements about quality, consistency, and how decisions get made at scale. If a system slows teams down or needs constant policing, it has failed.
- Good design does not live in isolation. It works best when product, engineering, and design share ownership of outcomes, not just responsibilities. Alignment is not a meeting. It is a working model.
- I care deeply about craft, but I care more about impact. Beautiful work that does not move the needle is decoration.
- As a leader, my goal is to make myself less critical over time. If everything depends on me, the system is fragile. If the team can make good decisions without me, the system is working.
That’s the bar I hold design to.
And that’s the environment I try to build.
Leadership & Team Building
I build design teams that scale with the business — not just in size, but in maturity,
ownership, and impact. And that’s the environment I try to build.
Across organisations, I’ve hired, grown, and led designers while putting the
systems in place that allow teams to move fast without breaking quality or trust.
40+
Designers Hired
Built and scaled design teams across UX, UI, and product design. Hiring for thinking, not just tools, and setting clear expectations from day one.
3x
Team Growth
Scaled teams from small, founder-dependent units to stable design organisations, without losing craft, speed, or accountability.
25+
Designers Mentored
Hands-on mentorship across junior to senior levels, focused on judgment, communication, and decision-making — not just output.
100%
Designers Hired
Established tight working models with Engineering, Product, and Marketing so design operated as a partner, not a dependency.

The Bagheera and ECHO Frameworks
I do not design screens in isolation.
I design the infrastructure that allows teams to build consistently, move faster, and
make better decisions without constant oversight.
At scale, inconsistency is not a visual problem. It is an operational one. Design systems,
when done right, solve for alignment, speed, and trust across teams.
-
ECHO Framework
Enterprise healthcare design system
The ECHO design system was built for a complex healthcare ecosystem with multiple products, roles, and regulatory constraints. The goal was reliability at scale, not visual novelty.
- Created a unified design language across platforms used by over 800K users
- Bridged design and engineering using shared principles and atomic structure
- Supported React and Angular implementations with clear handoff standards
-
Bagheera Framework
Multi-platform component foundation
Bagheera was built to bring consistency across products without slowing teams down. The focus was not just components, but shared logic, naming, and behavior across platforms.
- Reduced UI inconsistencies by 85 percent across more than 20 applications
- Established a standardized component model used across web and mobile
- Enabled teams to ship faster without fragmenting quality
